Position Summary:  The Human Resources Generalist maintains and enhances the organization's human resources function by assisting the Human Resources Department in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of the company’s human resources policies, programs, and practices.  Responsibilities will include, employee relations, workforce planning and recruitment, compensation planning, organizational development and change management. The role requires self-time management and organization skills, as well as strong communication skills.
A Day in the Life:
  • You will interface directly with field supervisors, employees, and senior leadership on organizational changes to meet operational short- and long- term goals.
  • You will support core businesses on the West and East coast from the corporate office in Houston, TX.  
  • You will manage the recruitment, sourcing, selection and hiring of positions within the assigned client groups.
  • You will ensure legal compliance with all employment-related federal, state, and local government laws.
  • You will develop and ensure fair treatment and equitable application of company policies and procedures for all employees.
  • You will handle employee relations and grievance issues including investigation, documentation, and resolution.
  • You will work directly with management as needed to assist them in carrying out their responsibilities on personnel matters.
  • You will ensure timely response and interaction with appropriate agencies: TWC, OSHA, DOL, EEOC, etc.
  • You will assess and report to the Human Resources department on the Company's compensation to ensure competitiveness in the marketplace.
  • You will complete additional corporate projects and responsibilities as necessary. 
Our Ideal Candidate:
  • Has a bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S.) in human resources, business or equivalent years of field experience.
  • Has a PHR certification.
  • Has a minimum of 5 years of general and progressive HR experience (required).
  • Has experience working in multi-location environment (850+ employees).
  • Must possess strong knowledge of applicable federal, state and local HR and Employment Laws (i.e FMLA, FLSA, ADA, etc).
  • Has the ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
  • Has the ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures, regulations or documents with a similar degree of complexity.
  • Has strong interpersonal skills. 
  • Has excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Is computer literate: MS Office; Ceridian DayForce; Compensation tool experience is a plus.
