Summary

Supervises manufacturing operations and personnel to ensure productivity and efficiency goals are met as well as meeting customer production and quality demands while utilizing experience and judgement to plan and accomplish production goals on a timely basis while maintaining a safe working environment

Duties and Responsibilities

Essential Functions Only:

·       Coordinates manufacturing activities to ensure processing and packaging of quality products within required specifications.

·       Reviews operations reports and resolves operations, manufacturing, quality, and maintenance problems to ensure minimum costs and prevent operational delays.

·       Reviews operations schedule to ascertain product data such as types, quantities, and specifications of products and scheduled delivery dates in order to plan production operations.

·       Assists with collection and analysis of Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s).

·       Provides data-driven recommendations aligning with strategic business objectives and company goals.

·       Assists with the development and/or revision of standard operating procedures and working practices while ensuring worker compliance with company standards.

·       Prepares and manages operational crewing schedules.

·       Leads continuous improvement efforts to raise manufacturing performance in order to meet and exceed critical Plant Safety, Quality, Service, and Cost KPI’s.

·       Responsible for sanitation and safety of production area and maintenance of equipment in compliance with current Good Manufacturing Practices, Sanitation SOPs, and the Global Food Safety Initiative.

·       Develop, train, educate, and teach supervisors and employees packaging and processing duties and functions.

·       Ensures adequate skills inventory of front line personnel to effectively meet demands of the business

·       Ensures and maintains a safe work environment.

·       Ensures manufacturing processes are run in accordance with current SOP’s, appropriate work instructions and other documentation.

·       Coaches employees to fulfill and exceed the job requirements through a continuous review of targeted achievements and report variances during on-the-floor and review meetings.

·       Ensures the development and implementation of action plans to address root causes of failure and support continuous improvement initiatives.

·       Performs other duties as assigned by management.

 

Supervisory Responsibilities

Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

 

 


Qualifications

Description

Education and Experience

·       Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) from four year college or university and 2 years of manufacturing experience  OR high school diploma and five years’ related experience in consumer products goods manufacturing management

·       Valid Driver’s License.

·       Must have or willing to obtain certification from AIB in FSSI or HAACP.

·       Lean or Six Sigma Certification preferred.

·       Knowledge of Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, and Power Point).

·       Knowledge of SAP a plus.

Travel Time

      Must be able to travel up to 10% of the time.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions.  The employee regularly   works near moving mechanical parts and in outside weather conditions and is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, extreme cold, extreme heat and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment from production machinery is usually very loud.
