Preventive Maintenance Technician

Department: Sales Operations

Reports to: Warehouse Manager or Field Service Supervisor




Performs scheduled maintenance on brewing, serving equipment and water coolers according to established company policies, procedures and standards

Duties and Responsibilities

Essential Functions Only:

·         With assistance from the Warehouse Manager or Field Service Supervisor, prioritizes and schedules preventive maintenance of equipment.  Drives company vehicle to customer site to perform required tasks.

·         Perform routine preventive maintenance of brewing equipment and water coolers, in accordance with the company preventive maintenance program, to prevent mechanical failure.

·         Report to supervisor any mechanical, electrical fault or water line defect that was discovered during the preventive maintenance process that may lead to major break down of equipment and/or water leak incident.

·         Maintain a clean and hazard free work area while performing preventive maintenance at customer facilities.

·         Train customers on proper operation and required cleaning of brewers and water coolers

·         Responsible for maintenance of assigned vehicle, including but not limited to cleanliness, inspections, scheduled maintenance, etc.

·         Responsible for managing parts inventory, including labeled defective parts and warranty eligibility

·         Responsible for proper opening and closing of work orders, issuing parts utilizing a handheld computer device.

·         In the absence of a manager, investigates and reports damages caused by company owned equipment to customer property

·         Completes bench work orders as directed by supervisor.


Supervisory Responsibilities

This job has no direct supervisory responsibilities




Education and Experience

·         High school diploma or equivalent required

·         One year related experience in electrical, or small appliance repair

·         Familiarity with electrical and mechanical fundamentals, required

·         Must have an acceptable driving record

·         Valid driver’s license

·         Utilization of a handheld computer device is preferred

Travel Time

Daily, local travel in company vehicle; Limited or occasional overnight travel

·         Must frequently lift and/or move up to 35 pounds.  May occasionally lift and/or move up to 85 pounds (with assistance of lift or by two persons) and may occasionally lift and/or move up to 200 pounds (with assistance of lift and by two persons).

·         Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, color vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.

Field Sales Environment- While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts; in high, precarious places; and in outside weather conditions and is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles; The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate, but may be moderately loud in warehouse areas.
