Service Technician

Department: Supply Chain

Reports to: Café Equipment Supervisor

 

 


Summary

Repairs, maintains, installs and removes brewing and serving equipment

Duties and Responsibilities

Essential Functions Only:

·          Under supervision of the Café Equipment Supervisor, prioritizes and schedules repair of brewing equipment

·         Inspects used parts to determine change in dimensional requirements

·         Observes mechanical devices in operation and listens to their sounds to troubleshoot

·         Dismantles devices to gain access to and remove defective parts

·         Examines form and texture of parts to detect imperfections

·         Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments

·         Repairs or replaces defective parts. Installs special functional and structural parts in devices. Lubricates and cleans parts

·         Starts devices to test their performance

·         Responsible for managing all parts inventory

 

Supervisory Responsibilities

This job has no direct supervisory responsibilities

 


Qualifications

Description

Education and Experience

·         High school diploma or General Education degree (GED)

·         2-3 years’ related experience in electrical or small appliance repair- HVAC a plus

·         Familiarity with electrical and mechanical fundamentals

·         Valid driver’s license

·         Knowledge of plumbing and electrical fundamentals

Travel Time

      Limited overnight travel may be required.

·         Frequently required to stand and sit; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls and talk or hear, climb and balance.

·         Occasionally required to stand; walk, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.

·         Regularly lift and/or move up to 35 lbs.; occasionally required to lift up to 85lbs with assistance of lift or by two persons; occasionally lift/move up to 175 with lift or by two persons.   

·         Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Field Sales Environment- While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts; in high, precarious places; and in outside weather conditions and is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles; The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate, but may be moderately loud in warehouse areas.
